This clinical trial is focused on patients who have undergone a gastrectomy, which is a surgical procedure to remove part or all of the stomach. The study is investigating whether taking a medication called Nortase® with every meal can improve the quality of life for these patients six months after their surgery. Nortase® is a medication that contains enzymes such as amylase, protease, and rizolipase, which help in digesting food.
The purpose of the study is to determine if enzyme supplementation can lead to better disease-specific quality of life for patients after a gastrectomy. Participants in the study will be randomly assigned to receive either Nortase® or a placebo, which is a substance with no active medication. The study will last for six months, during which participants will take the assigned capsules with their meals.
Throughout the study, participants will be monitored to assess their quality of life, focusing on physical well-being. The goal is to see if those taking Nortase® experience improvements compared to those taking the placebo. This research aims to provide valuable insights into the potential benefits of enzyme supplementation for individuals recovering from gastrectomy.
