This clinical trial is focused on studying the effects of a specific pain management technique following kidney removal surgery in patients with renal cancer. The study will use a method called the Quadratus lumborum block, which is a type of local anesthesia aimed at reducing pain after surgery. The medications involved in this study include Ropivacaine, a local anesthetic, Dexamethasone, a corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, and Sodium Chloride, which is used as a solution for infusion.
The purpose of the study is to determine if the Quadratus lumborum block can decrease the need for additional pain relief after surgery. Participants will receive either the active treatment or a placebo. The study will monitor the amount of pain medication needed at various times after the anesthesia is administered, as well as the time it takes before the first pain medication is required. Additionally, the study will assess pain levels both at rest and during movement.
The trial will follow participants through their recovery process to gather data on how effective the pain management technique is in reducing the need for further pain relief. This information will help improve pain management strategies for patients undergoing kidney removal surgery due to renal cancer.
