Immune System Diseases

At Landesklinikum Stockerau, the 2nd Medical Department concentrates on rheumatology and conducts research into immune system diseases, with a special focus on Sjögren’s syndrome. Current studies are designed to evaluate new biologic therapies for safety, tolerability, and reduction of disease activity.

  • Assessment of long‑term safety and tolerability of targeted antibodies
  • Measurement of disease activity improvement using validated scores such as the ESSDAI
  • Comparison of novel therapies against placebo in moderate to severe Sjögren’s syndrome

The site is running three clinical trials overseen by two investigators, exploring agents like ianalumab and nipocalimab to broaden treatment possibilities for patients with Sjögren’s syndrome.
